New Kazakhstan distributor delivers first Sandvik Mobiles' train

Korund, now one of the largest distributors of mining and construction equipment in Central Asia, became in March 2014 a distributor for Sandvik Construction Mobile Crushing and Screening. The first Sandvik Mobiles' units were recently delivered into Kazakhstan to produce aggregate for a road construction company, consisting of a QJ341 jaw crusher, a QH331 cone crusher and a QA331 screen.

Operating since 1991, Korund has earned a reputation for being a stable, reliable and trustworthy business supplying machinery of the highest standards to the mining and construction industries. The company placed the first deliveries of equipment into Kazakhstan in 1991 as official distributors for leading manufacturers of mining and construction equipment. By 2000 Korund was providing a regular supply of equipment and service support not only in Kazakhstan, but also in Uzbekistan. In 2004 Korund collaborated with leading companies in Kyrgyzstan to supply equipment there, and in 2009 they developed markets in Tajikistan and Turkmenistan, supplying many of the largest companies in this region by 2010.

Korund is now considered to be one of the largest distributors of mining and construction equipment in Central Asia. Adding to its portfolio of world leading equipment in March 2014 the company became a distributor for Sandvik Construction Mobile Crushing and Screening products. The first units delivered into Kazakhstan were to be used in order to produce aggregate for a road construction company, and consisted of QJ341 jaw crusher, and a QH331 cone crusher, with the resulting products being screened by a QA331 screen.

From the granite and diorite material, the road construction company is producing aggregates to be used as base material for roads. Korund, and its customer, have utilized the flexibility of the Sandvik machines to operate them in two crushing and screening trains to achieve the desired material sizes. The first train consists of a jaw – QJ341 - feeding a cone – QH331 - which then feeds a screen – QA331 – to produce the finished product.

The QJ341 is the flagship model from the Sandvik Construction Premium range of mobile jaw crushers and consistently proves to be one of the world's best-selling tracked machines in its class. In the Kazakhstan road construction application the jaw is set to a 80mm CSS (Closed Side Setting), allowing the machine to crush the largest material easily. This is then fed into the QH331 cone crusher which is set at a 32mm CSS to crush and shape the finished product. The QH331 is fitted with the world renowned Sandvik CH430 cone crusher, which comes with a choice of six different crushing chambers and a variety of bush settings, making it one of the most flexible cone crushers on the market today.

Finally the crushed and shaped material is then fed to a QA331 screen. This features a two bearing screen box with a unique screening angle built into the bottom deck for ultimate fines screening, making it the perfect solution for this particular train application. The top deck features 25mm square mesh and the bottom deck a 5mm square mesh to produce finished product sizes of 0-4mm, 4-20mm and 20-40mm.

The second train operation consists of the QJ341 jaw crusher feeding the QA331 screen directly. This combination allows for a wider range of sizes to be produced as the jaw is able to tackle the most difficult applications, whereas the screen is ideal for ultimate fines screening. The produced materials are 0-4mm, 4-20mm and 20-100mm, made possible by the flexibility of the Sandvik crusher and screen. The equipment has also proved to be highly durable and economical as after 700 hours of operation the screen has only just had its first mesh change.

Korund chose from the Sandvik Construction Mobiles portfolio to enable its customers to tackle a wide range of applications, and to have the flexibility to configure the machines in the best way possible for their projects. This, coupled with the durability of the equipment, together with Korund's comprehensive aftermarket and customer support, makes them an ideal choice for the Kazakhstan market.
